A Very Crafty Christmas Haul

A Very Crafty Christmas Haul | Red-Handled Scissors

Happy New Year, crafty muffins! I’d like to tell you that I’ve spent the last few days working on exciting new projects and rolling out grand plans for the upcoming year. That, however, didn’t happen. Instead, I’ve been parked on the couch with a particularly nasty virus and doctor’s orders to rest, hydrate, and wait for it to run its course. (My fever still hasn’t broken, so do forgive me if this post suddenly takes a turn for the weird.) I don’t know about you, but I’m a person who always has at least five things going on at once, so this waiting game is pure torture. I haven’t been able to read, write, or make anything for days, and, even worse, I haven’t been able to dig into my awesome crafty haul from Christmas. (Oh, the humanity!)

Since coughing and, say, knitting lace and sewing aren’t exactly compatable, I’ll just have to settle for telling you about my new goodies instead of showing them in action. (You’ll also get to check out my mom’s lovely fireplace and one of my great grandmother’s braided rugs!)

Behold, my crafty Christmas haul:

The Gütermann In-Home Thread Cabinet and the Addi Click Lace Long Tips Interchangeable Knitting System were at the very top of my wish list this year, and I can’t even begin to tell you how excited I am to add both to my crafty arsenal. (Squee!) Same goes for the X-Acto Basic Knife Set, which had been on my to-buy list for years. (I can’t resist a good tool with its own case. Can you?) Other highlights include the book The Gentle Art of Stitching, some Hoop-La Embroidery Hoops, Sharpie Paint Markers, an old fashioned Knitting Doll, and a GIGANTIC antique quilting loom from my grandma.

As you can see, my family was pretty darn good to me this year! What was in your holiday craft haul?

Love you gifts. It must be very frustrating not being able to do anything with all these nice things. I too have always got lots of things on the go at once. Hope you feeling better soon.

Ooh nice! Sorry you’ve not been feeling well – I hope you get to play with your new toys soon :-) I was also very lucky and reveived lots of craft books including The Principles of Knitting and some Chiaogoo interchangeable needles. Lucky me!
